The Story Behind the Spot


The ad opens with a familiar scene: a guy in his garage reaching for a lubricant. But this time, it’s not a petroleum-based can—it’s Gear Hugger. Suddenly, a living plant crawls toward him. At first, he’s freaked out. But then… the plant gives him a kiss.


We know. Weird. But also awesome.


Why? Because it symbolizes what we’re all about: products so natural, even nature approves.
